Is it true that being bilingual delays Alzheimer disease?

Being bilingual delays Alzheimer, I hope

I heard it’s possible. But, to have a conclusion between
bilingualism and a lower risk of Alzheimer needs much
more research according to the study by Mayo Clinic.

I came to the U.S. more than 40 years ago. I was already
30 years old when I came to this country. I was always
concerned about my accent and tried to position my tongue
in the right place. I was an elementary school librarian.
Reading and speaking proper English is an important
task as an educator.

Especially, I have been working on:
-Toungue positioning in the mouth
-Understanding the soft and hard palate
-Vibration of the throat
-Open and closing the throat
  -Lip shapes


These might have led me to pay more attention when I speak,
and to try to handle functions of my brain.

Adding more vocabulary words
Also, I try to remember more vocabulary words every day
and I try to make a sentence using a new word.
That might delay the onset of Alzheimer. Because, whether
it is successful or not, my brain is thinking constantly.

Anyway, learning one or more languages means challenging
obstacles. That’s good for our brain’s constant
development. No time for Alzheimer disease for a while.

Other activities after I retired
This discussion group helps "old" ladies cognitive and mental activities.
We meet once a month to discuss certain topics: politics, climate change,
travel and more. One of the ladies is almost 90 years old.
She is far from Alzheimer!

Volunteer work at school

social

Social, traveling, reading, sports and many other activities help enrich our life.
Oh, recently, I'm into our tax calculation, that would be a very good
prevention from Alzheimer even though I'm not very good at it.

アルツハイマー病の発症を防ぐには,同時にいくつかのことをするのが良いと聞いたことがあります。
バイリンガルの方は,語彙,発音,アクセントなど頭で考えつつ,喉を使って会話をされるのですから、すごく効果があると思います。

音楽も

モモさんのピアノ演奏も楽譜、聴音など、それこそ、一度にいろいろな能力を
使わなければならず、アルツになる暇などないでしょうね。頑張ってください!

新しい曲の読譜などしないと心身共に凝り固まりそうです。色々チャレンジしていこうと思います。
