American Farmers and Tarif on China

President Trump is trying to impose tariff on soybeans.
That will definitely cause problems farmers in the USA.

We have a little farm in Iowa. My husband
inherited about 80 acers of farm land from his
parents. He feels good to have a farm even
though it’s a little farm from a farmer’s
stand point of view.

Since he does not have time to work on farm,
a young farmer who studied agriculture
at a college in Iowa is taking care of
my husband’s farm.

This young farmer must have passion on his own
farm. He owns several thousand acres of farm
land in Iowa. His farm is not a small
business, indeed.

After he harvests soybeans and corn,
he does not take them to the elevator to process
like other farmers do.

This young man does not use a middle man. He has
the machinery to process his own crops. After he grows
his soybeans and corns, he ferments left over crops in
his silage. Thus, he will make cattle food and feed
his cattle without wasting his crops and without
paying to an elevator company.

But, recent Trump’s talk on tariff to China,
will cause problems for this young farmer and many other
American farmers. Because, China is a good
business customer for the American farmers.

Recent years, China is purchasing more and more
soybeans from Brazil. They may not purchase soybeans
from the U.S.A in the future.

Because of recent catastrophe weather with
heavy rains and tornadoes,
I hope young bright farmers are not going to
be discouraged by their effort in agriculture business.

We want to support on science and technology in agriculture.
Our dietary habit is depending on beef, soybeans, and corns.

This weekend, I’m going to cook Sukiyaki dinner
with sirloin beef, tofu, shirataki noodles, green onions
and spinaches.

If farmers are gone, where can I get enough nutritious
foods?
